In a world of instant replies, Alali Letters asks for something different: patience, and a little curiosity about someone you have never met.

How it works

Buy a kit and write a letter. Leave it unaddressed, using the stationery inside. We give it a private reference code instead of a name, so it stays anonymous, and place it in the letters basket at Alali Studio.

On a later visit, another guest browses the basket and chooses a letter to reply to, or adds one of their own. When a reply arrives for you, we hold it at the front desk and let you know by WhatsApp or phone.

What’s in the kit

Original illustrated stationery, made for Alali. A wax sealed envelope with the Alali stamp. A short guide to how the exchange works. A guaranteed place in the letters basket, held and matched by our team. Kit costs ₦30,000

Reply Day

Once a month, the basket comes out from behind the desk and into the open. Bring your kit, sit with a coffee or a glass of wine, and write in the studio instead of at home. New letters go in, waiting replies get handed back, and the exchange becomes something shared for an afternoon.

No need to finish in one sitting. Take your letter home and bring it back whenever you’re ready.
