Selfie session on canvas + wine tasting + buffet + live music.
The Rembrandt package is Alali’s most elevated evening, a self-portrait painting session paired with a proper wine tasting flight, a full buffet and live music.
The setting does some of the work on its own. Guests paint surrounded by the Alali Gallery’s original Nigerian art, large modern African-style pieces on white walls, the room lit warm and low by evening, with a scent of grapes, aubergine and cinnamon in the air. It’s a genuinely different backdrop for a self-portrait than a blank studio room.
Guests paint their own portrait on canvas, guided by an SPNL instructor, a genuinely different challenge from painting a landscape or still life, and a piece that means something specific to take home. Alongside it runs a wine tasting flight, guests choose between the Discovery Flight or the Sommeliers Flight, and within that, the tasting itself can take a few different directions. Learn to tell grape varieties apart, taste your way through wines from different corners of the globe, or try the hidden wine tasting, a guess-the-grape game that turns the flight into something playful rather than purely educational.
The buffet comes with real choice too, International, Nigerian, Thai, or an American spread with a Nigerian twist, burgers, sliders, chicken wings, loaded fries, cinnamon rolls, and turkey with yam fries. The evening also comes with a choice of live music, a violinist, a saxophonist, a singer, or a DJ, so the mood can be set to whatever the occasion calls for, quiet and classical or something with more energy. Bottomless wine runs throughout on top of the tasting flight itself.
Rembrandt suits a group marking something worth doing properly, a milestone birthday, an anniversary, a celebration that calls for more than a standard session. It’s held at Alali Gallery, our own studio in Victoria Island, surrounded by original Nigerian art, and runs from ₦250,000 per guest, minimum 5 guests.
